Why We Chose the Name Áldott
Áldott (pronounced ahl-dott) is the Hungarian word for “blessed.”
When we founded our kennel, we wanted a name that reflected both the heritage of the Wirehaired Vizsla — a proud Hungarian breed — and our personal belief that Wirehaired Vizslas are one of life’s great blessings.
We believe that anyone who welcomes one of our puppies into their home is receiving more than just a dog — they’re gaining a loyal friend, a trusted hunting partner, a loving family member, and a daily reminder of joy and connection. That’s a blessing in every sense of the word.
We also believe in sharing the greatest blessing we’ve received — the love of Jesus Christ. That love shapes how we raise our dogs, how we care for each family we work with, and how we honor the purpose behind every life we touch — human or canine.
So when you see the name Áldott Wirehaired Vizslas, know that it isn’t just a name. It’s our prayer — that these dogs will be a blessing to your life, as they have been to ours.
